Employee Story: Quy Dinh Ngoc

"At MSN, I didn’t just get a job, I was given the opportunity to build a new life"

Almost eight years ago, Quy Dinh Ngoc was given the opportunity to move from Vietnam to the Netherlands. At the time, he was working as a Team Leader Mechanical Engineering at Damen Vietnam, with whom MSN had established contacts. Through this collaboration, he was introduced to an opportunity within MSN. This marked a new chapter not only for him, but also for his wife Hue, who also works as an engineer at MSN, and for their family.

The decision to move to the Netherlands was therefore more than just a career move. It was an opportunity to build a new life together. The family has now been living in the Netherlands for almost eight years, and for the past two years they have officially been Dutch citizens.

"For me, joining MSN was not only a professional opportunity, but also a new beginning for my family. We received a great deal of support from the company, both professionally and personally. We truly appreciate that."

Technically challenging projects with a focus on quality

What appeals to Quy about MSN is the combination of technical expertise, challenging projects and an open company culture. As Project Manager Engineering, he coordinates engineering activities within complex projects for the superyacht industry. In this role, he works closely with piping engineers, the production department, clients and shipyards to ensure that schedules, quality standards and project requirements are met.

A typical working day consists of meetings, monitoring project progress, resolving technical issues and supporting colleagues with complex challenges. At the same time, there is always room for a cup of coffee or a walk with colleagues during the break

"Every project brings new technical challenges. That is exactly what makes my work interesting and ensures that I continue to develop myself."

Working together across borders

In addition to the content of his work, Quy particularly values the collaboration within MSN. He regularly works with international teams and has made an important contribution to the cooperation between his Dutch colleagues and the Vietnamese engineering team.

For him, a successful project is not only about technology, but above all about good communication, trust and teamwork. He experiences this open way of working every day at MSN.

Trust, flexibility and a place to call home

According to Quy, what sets MSN apart from other employers is the combination of interesting projects, trust and flexibility. He has a great deal of freedom to carry out his work independently and experiences a good work-life balance.

He also greatly appreciates the company's personal involvement. MSN supported the family not only during their move to the Netherlands, but also in the years that followed. As a result, they now truly feel at home here.

Quy looks back with great pride on the projects he has worked on. One project that stands out to him is Leviathan (Project 722) for Oceanco, the first project in which he had overall responsibility in his role as Project Manager Engineering.

"What makes MSN special to me are the challenging projects, the trust and the freedom I have in my work. I also greatly appreciate the support that my family and I have received over the years."
