As an Outfitting Coordinator you act as the connecting link between project management, client relations, engineering and execution across multiple projects. Working closely with the Foreman, you ensure that mechanical installations on board are carried out professionally, efficiently and according to schedule. With your technical knowledge, organizational skills and natural leadership, you maintain oversight of progress, quality, safety and collaboration. In doing so, you play an important role in delivering complex and innovative installations within the dynamic maritime industry.
What makes us unique?
Marine Service Noord (MSN) is an innovative and sustainably operating company in the maritime sector, specializing in energy systems, advanced technology and complex piping systems for luxury yachts and commercial vessels. Since 1988, MSN has completed more than 700 full installations and over 2,350 kilometers of piping, always working closely with the client from design through to commissioning. MSN is driving innovation in the energy transition by developing advanced systems for hydrogen, methanol and other alternative fuels.
Trust, development and innovation form the foundation of our organization. Our employees have the opportunity to grow and develop while actively contributing to high-quality and future-focused solutions. As MSN continues to grow and evolve, we are always looking for talented professionals who share our ambition to shape a sustainable future for the maritime industry.
The challenge
As Outfitting Coordinator, you are responsible for the execution of mechanical engineering projects at our client’s shipyard within the assigned account. MSN is involved in multiple projects within this account, making this coordinating role essential as a key point of contact for both the client and the internal organisation.
The main focus is on ensuring alignment between the various projects and achieving the optimal balance between execution, quality, safety, planning and commercial performance. You act as the link between the client, project management and day-to-day operations. Your priority is to ensure that work progresses consistently, systematically and in a controlled manner.
Within the account, you provide direction to the execution teams and monitor progress and the feasibility of schedules across the various projects. You maintain close coordination with project management, the foreman and the client, overseeing overall progress and key priorities. You identify risks and bottlenecks, take timely corrective action and provide constructive technical and operational input where necessary. In doing so, you balance different interests while keeping the best interests of the project and the client in mind.
In addition to being responsible for project execution within the account, you are commercially responsible for identifying, substantiating and securing additional work across the projects. You discuss additional work with the client and, in collaboration with the Project Manager, translate it into a clearly defined scope, schedule and financial implications. You safeguard MSN’s commercial interests and ensure that all additional work is documented, agreed upon and delivered in a careful and professional manner.
What are we looking for?
HBO-level education or equivalent professional and intellectual ability, preferably in Mechanical Engineering, Marine Engineering or a comparable technical field;
Several years of relevant experience in a similar role and in possession of a VCA-VOL certificate;
Ability to work in a structured and methodical manner within a project environment;
Preferably experience with mechanical systems in the maritime sector. Experience in luxury yacht building is an advantage;
Experience with Excel, ERP systems and interpreting Cadmatic drawings;
Good command of both Dutch and English.
What do we offer?
At MSN, you feel that you are part of a close-knit and open team of approximately 100 employees. MSN is characterised by its people-oriented approach and warm company culture, where employees feel valued and heard. This is reflected in teams where trust and development opportunities are paramount, and where everyone takes each other into consideration. There are also plenty of opportunities to socialise outside of work: our staff association organises fun outings at least twice a year, and we also enjoy an annual summer barbecue and a pleasant Christmas drinks reception together.
An attractive salary between €5,000 and €5,800 gross per month, depending on education and experience. With a full-time employment contract, you will receive 27 vacation days and 13 additional leave days (ADV days). Collective disability insurance, reliable pension accrual in accordance with the Metalektro Collective Labour Agreement (CAO), employee discounts, a bicycle scheme and a travel expense reimbursement scheme.
